REVIEWS Over the Fourth Part of the Earth CD (2007)

Holland Review : Lets face it fuckers in the Philippines are loads of underground metal bands that are into the scene for some years. And pretty good once also, only to bad a little amount of bands are breaking further into the world with their shit. And also Kratornas who is one of them, started in 1995 and released loads of demo's and split albums. Kratornas has been Originally formed with three guys but they could not keep up with each other that long so the same year Kratornas has been formed they split up again. Bruno Zamora is the only band member left from the line-up in 1995 and who has been moving forwards with the band, and I'm glad he did btw. All the releases that Kratornas recorded are all done by Bruno Zamora so cheers man and hellish compliments.

Alright lets get on with some talk about Kratornas and his first full length album. Hell on fucking earth. That's the first thought that comes in my mind when the first melodies starts of this "Over the Fourth Part of the Earth" album. Raw and hellish underground blackmetal with awesome fast grindcore influences with here and there some slower oldschool deathmetal moves. Eight tracks with non stop sounds from hell, pretty fucking good stuff. This is the shit to make people who never heard extreme metal shit in their paints. With an extreme raw sound and sick vocals is this disk a damn good album especially if you are complete into the underground black and grind scene.

If I were you i would check this band Kratornas on their myspace place were you can listen to some evil music files. There you also can buy a copy of this disk by contacting Bruno! 4/5

Canada Review : KRATORNAS is an unholy Black Metal hook in the mouth of Grinding Death Metal. The sound of "Over the Fourth Part of the Earth" is rough raw, unusual and licensed to this South Asian band only as they declared to be sick of the over heard Metal Zone shit. I would describe KRATORNAS as a machinegun's discharge because they play ultra fast. The riffs are reminescent of old THE TRUE MAYHEM, KRISIUN and SADISTIK EXEKUTION. I could also refer to the first albums of MORBID ANGEL for the sound and old school style of the hyperactive and poisonous lead solos. Maybe some pale influences from PANTERA for the groovy breaking parts. It's like stuffing the best and most extreme Metal outfits on this fistfucking planet in a blender, sprinkling some smashed wake up pills into the mixture, and serving it as an exotic cocktail to the most pissed off underground Metal motherfucker. KRATORNAS is unique. I never heard anything like this in the past. Even if they haunt the underground since 1995, spreading their plague with several ugly sounding 7" EP, 10" MLP, Demo Tapes and such, "Over the Fourth Part of the Earth" is the first full lenght album of KRATORNAS, available from Grave Smasher Records as a CD. I advice EVERYONE into underground Metal to check their local mailorder to get their hands on that masterpiece!!!

Turkey Review : I really hate it when bands stop promoting their shit and leave all promotion work to label rightafter they get signed. Isn't it kind of rock star attitude? At least it isn't underground! Fortunately, this one-man band wasn't one of those bands and sent in their album even though it was released on a label! Enough ass-kissing, let's see what the music is like. This is brutal black metal with retro thrash riffing and raw as fuck production, even rawer than you can imagine! Being aware of some of their previous works I already knew what to expect from this new album, therefore what I heard didn't surprise me at all but made me bang my head!

Columbia Review : Here we found to Bruno Zamora since that far country playing all the instruments of the Kratornas metal. The sound of this CD seems to the first Mayhem works, the riffs carry the illness of the Grind Brutal Death Metal. Kratornas exist since 1995, it has several demos, splits, and one EP, but this is its first full lenght.

USA Review : KRATORNAS is one of the first Black metal bands to emerge out of the Philippines back in 1995. These guys have been destroying the Black Metal scene with their relentless onslaught of Black Metal mayhem. The music is very fast paced, aggressive & in your face Black Metal with a very raw old school influence. The music is a bit different than other bands of this style. They add in little flairs, like distortion, many change ups & some unique vocal stylings. There are some heavy Thrash Metal influences in the guitar sounds at times too. These guys just keep getting better & better with each release!

USA Review : Thus far I’ve heard three Kratornas recordings and while they haven’t differed all that much musically, this new album titled ‘Over the Fourth Part of the Earth’ is definitely the strongest to date. Kratornas once again unleashes an utterly brutal barrage of blackened grind that sounds like the quintessence of war and pure black evil caught on tape. On most songs the listener is indeed treated to raw vicious music, but one common characteristic is that there are plenty of interesting guitar riffs and some darn good solos to boot. Bruno whispers and screams his words in a truly malevolent approach whilst the blazing fast programmed drums pummel you. While most songs on this new album are utterly brutal to the end, ‘Dead Messiah’ sounds highly inspired by early Bathory, and indeed is my favorite song on this new release. Production wise this recording is on the same level as a lot of bands demos, so needless to say if you can’t stand raw black metal than your probably going to want to avoid this one. Also let it be known that the entire onslaught is over in just a few seconds over thirty minutes. If you enjoy this sort of ultra fast violent raw blackened grind, perhaps along the lines of Beherit or Blasphemy, than your definitely going to want to seek out this album. 6.5/10

Το εξώφυλλο του "Over the Fourth Part of the Earth" εικάζω πως σαν και μένα θα μπορέσετε να το μπερδέψετε εύκολα με αυτό του "Obsecrations to The Horned" των Merrimack.
